All matches of Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Water Polo are scheduled from 6th August and 20th August 2016. All preliminary events will be held in Maria Lenk Aquatic Center. Final events will be held in Olympics Aquatic Stadium.

Twelve teams for men and eight for women are the Water Polo participation at Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Water Polo. Serbia, Greece, Brazil, Australia, Japan and Hungary are participating in Group A for Men Water Polo. United States, Spain, France, Montenegro, Italy and Croatia are participating in Group B for Men Water Polo.
Italy, Russia, Australia and Host Country Brazil are in Women Group A at 2016 Summer Olympics Water Polo, whereas Spain, China, Hungary and United Stats are in Group B.
